Colonel Peter C. Glass commissioned in 1997 from The Citadel. His first assignment was with the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA. He served as a Platoon Leader, Battalion Adjutant, and Company Executive Officer in 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment. COL Glass graduated from the Infantry Captain’s Career Course in 2001 and subsequently served as an operations officer in the XVIII Airborne Corps where he completed a deployment to Afghanistan. Subsequently, COL Glass transitioned to Fort Hood, TX and served in 3 rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division where he completed staff time and commanded Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 8 th Cavalry Regiment, which was attached to 2 nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment for combat operations in An-Najaf and Al-Fallujah during Operation Iraqi Freedom II. After company command, COL Glass served as an observer controller at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, TX on the Scorpion Team. While there, he completed a master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University.


COL Glass continued his education at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island where he received a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies in 2009. He subsequently moved to Fort Carson, CO as an Operations Officer and Executive Officer in 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn. Additionally, he served as the Operations Officer and the Executive Officer for 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division where he deployed to Afghanistan as a Security Force Advisor Transition Team in the Operations Coordination Center-South in Kandahar.


Following his time at Fort Carson, COL Glass served as an instructor and Assistant Professor at the Command and General Staff Officer College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. He subsequently transitioned to Fort Stewart, GA where he commanded 2 nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment. He deployed the battalion in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve – once to Spain and once to Germany during his command.


In 2017-2018, COL Glass attended Senior Service College at the National War College, earning a Master of Science in National Security Strategy. While attending National War College, he earned an additional distinction from the College of Information and Cyberspace by completing the Cyber Security Leadership Concentration Program. His most recent assignment was at the Pentagon on the Joint Staff in the J5, Strategy, Plans and Policy in the Deputy Directorate – Asia, where he was the Deputy Division Chief for China, Taiwan, and Mongolia.
